The Bible teaches all men have sinned against God. (Romans 3:10, 3:23) That includes you and I. Sin means we have broken God's laws. His laws include the 10 commandments in Exodus 20. In those 10, we learn we are not righteous or holy in God's eyes. Sin separates us from the Holy God. We have fallen short of what it takes to get to Heaven. That's actually why God gave the 10 commandments, to show us we aren't good enough to live up to His perfect standards.

It doesn't stop their though. God doesn't just want us to know we sin and fall short, but also that he loves us. He loved you and I so much, He sent His only begotten Son (God the Son took on humanity as Jesus). He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life as a man. No other man has lived without sin and then he willingly let the Romans beat him. He was mocked, and then put on the cross. He allowed all this, and when God the Son in flesh was on the cross, He took our sins upon Him. He then gave his life for us.

This sacrifice paid the penalty of our sins, so we no longer have to be separated from God. Jesus took our place. Three days later, He rose again to show He has power over sin and death, and to give eternal life. He then rose back up to the Heavenly Father forty days later.

If He had just been a man who'd died, all those who hated Him would have brought his body forward to disprove that He was indeed alive. No one could ever do that. Jesus is alive today and ready to give eternal life as a gift to all who will simply admit to God they are sinners, ask God to save them from their sins believing in the sacrifice Jesus made for that salvation. (John 3:16-18).

The Bible teaches none can earn their way into Heaven, but rather they must ask Jesus to save them from their sins and believe He will. (Ephesians 2:8-9). Once a person trusts in the Lord as Savior, the Father gives them life that lasts forever (eternal life.) You can claim that today if you choose to.

This post means that I don't mind if I am never remembered by any, but I hope people remember my Savior and trust in Him.

took our sins upon Him when hung on the cross.
